Ecmo Mobilization Workshop

  • Audience Target Audience: Multidisciplinary ECMO team members (Physiotherapists, Nurses, Doctors, Perfusionists)

Description and intended learning objectives:
By the end of the workshop the participants will be able to

  1. Realize the concept of early mobilization of ECMO- supported patients.
  2. Realize the concept of early mobilization of ECMO patients
  3. Understand the role and responsibility of the multidisciplinary team in the mobilization session.
  4. Screen the patient, use the assessment tools and analyze them for mobilization purpose..
  5. Weigh the risks and benefits to decide for safe and effective early mobilization.
  6. Realize the precautionary measures that should be taken during mobilization session.
  7. Recognize when to initiate, delay, progress, and terminate treatment.
